Who's number 31??

So yesterday I was a little late getting to my seat which meant that I missed the line up announcement on the jumbo-tron, this always makes the first 10 minutes or so a bit of a pain as you try and work out who is actually on the pitch!
It makes it even more frustrating when you see someone running around with 31 on their back. Who the hell was this? A quick check on the back of the program didn't help and so I had to wait until mid way through the first half when I realised that it was Andros Townsend.

Iv'e never seen him play before but had heard good things so this was going to be interesting.

However the first half was anything but interesting, this was another example of Tottenham failing to get out of gear and if I'm honest thoughts of a cock up did start to filter in. (bit of the old fashioned Tottenham pessimism still present apparently). I was sitting right at the front in the Park Lane end near the corner flag so the best thing about this half was having Niko Kranjcar come over to take a couple of corners - sort of sums up a drab first half really!

If anyone watched the ITV highlights last night and wondered 'where was all the first half action?' this is why!

However in Harry we trust and the second half brought the introduction of Modric which was much needed as Palacios had 'one of those games'...again. Talk about an instant impact!
Modric showed the class that we were missing in the first half and was instrumental in setting Mr. Townsend free on the right.

So we've got this number 31 who half the stadium hasn't heard of and he bloody scores, not only that but it was a good goal and he had quite a few other chances as well! What a breath of fresh air that is! I love to see someone coming through our academy and he really looks like a good one for the future!

Aside from this Defoe looks like he may be hitting scoring form again, a brace from him sets up next weeks United game very nicely indeed! Also yet another solid performance from Dawson - he really does make all the difference at the back!

Game Pros - Andros Townsend appearing on the scene
Game No's - Pav, another poor performance when he should have done better against a pretty poor Charlton side, not doing himself any favours...

It was great to see 'The ginger Pele' back at The Lane as well, great response from the fans as well! One more thing, did anyone else notice the hostility from the Charlton fans after the game? They seemed to get a bit arsey in the ground at the final whistle but I had loads of comments and insults thrown my way when heading to The Bricklayers afterwards. Anyone who shouts anti jewish stuff at Tottenham when coming out of the game just wants a fight...

*BECKHAM ALERT*

I was going to finish there but while watching Ed Miliband talk rubbish on Sky News this happened (sorry about the poor picture but was in a hurry!), is always nice to see that Tottenham related news takes priority over the leader of the opposition!
YIDS!
