The future shouldn't be this concerning

Everyone's afraid of the unknown.
Be It the future state of the economy, the '2012 end of the world conspiracy' or what Wenger really gets up to behind closed doors. In this case I'm seriously worried about the future of our beloved Spurs.

The debate has raged for a long time now over the Northumberland Development Project and The Olympic Stadium, yesterday saw it confirmed that the decision will be postponed as the OPLC need 'more time to seek further clarification with both bidders', fair enough but this only really tells me one thing - that they are seriously considering our bid and we could therefore soon be confirmed as the preferred bidder.

Now readers of this blog will know that I'm firmly anti-Stratford and that I feel staying In Tottenham Is the only way forward however now I'm starting to think It could be the lesser of two evils.
Yesterday SkySports News broadcast a special report on this whole issue, a lot of it was the same old stuff we've heard before but two things stuck out to me, they were the interviews with Levy and Lord Sugar.

In particular what Levy said, he confirmed that If we miss out on The Olympic Stadium then he would look to move the club to other sites outside Tottenham. This basically translates to 'we will move from Tottenham and I have already been looking at other sites'.
The very tone of his interview suggested that The NDP is dead and buried, at least In its current form, what does seem certain Is that we wont be playing our football In North London (let alone Tottenham) at some point In the near future.

Sugar backed this up, however he did sound a lot more human than the robotic Levy, he said he understood the Spurs fans but that we need a new stadium to progress to the next level and he's right. We do need a new stadium and we do need it to progress but I am seriously afraid about where that will take us. Literally.

Its bad enough that the club Is looking at moving to East London but If that falls through where could we go? Enfield? Barnet? Welwyn Garden City? Or even further out? This Is what I mean about being afraid of the unknown, Levy also confirmed that Tottenham enquired about The Olympic Stadium long before The NDP was even brought about - In confirming this he also showed us the way he works. What else Is he planning that we don't know about?

I could be getting slightly carried away with this but maybe The Olympic Stadium is the best option, especially when you consider the 'what ifs?' It still hasn't changed my opinion but when your chairman confirms that we will leave White Hart Lane regardless then you have to be concerned as it was quite a vague statement, one thing I do know about Levy however Is that he Is a very good businessman and good businessman always have a back up plan. If The NDP Is out, then what Is In?

I don't like this at all and I know many of you will feel the same however this doesn't seem to have grabbed too much attention either on the forums or even on the other sporting websites - NewsNow is full of Tottenham stories, most of which focus on transfer news. I'm sure this will change throughout the day however.

Levy has had a very topsy turvy time at Spurs, he has done some very unpopular things In his time but In contrast has to some very good things. My gut feeling though Is that he has to go If we are going to preserve our club as It is ever apparent that he wants Spurs somewhere else.
The announcement of the preferred bidder therefore could well be one of the biggest decisions In our clubs history and going by the way Levy is working - this scares me.
