United? More like Hotspur!

Its that time again ladies and gents - no not to book a holiday to Tunisia - Its time for our home tie against Manchester Utd. This is one of those games that we always look forward to, over the years though I'm not really too sure why.
This has been a pretty depressing fixture to watch in recent times, even more so when you factor in the away games! In fact we haven't beaten them at home since the 19th May 2001 when thanks to a Korsten brace and a Ferdinand single we managed to turn them over 3-1.
It was 23rd October 1999 the last time we beat them at Old Trafford but we all know how unlucky we have been there over the years - Mendes anyone??

However things are different now, someone somewhere used one of their three wishes to turn Tottenham into a bloody good team and we're now even considered title contenders - GASP!
In fact the team has changed so much that Tottenham fans can go into this match feeling optimistic, some would even say confident that we can get a win.
This is obviously not just down to our own good fortunes but also down to the way United have been playing this season - they have certainly not been consistent but they are unbeaten so far. All in all however this does present our best chance for some time of turning them over.

I wouldn't expect any surprises with the line up, i think the only real issue is who to partner Modric in midfield, I'm going to go for Palacios - although he has been very suspect this year we will need his tackling (fouling) ability in the middle. Sky Sports have predicted that Crouch will start up front but I would personally go for Defoe. Gallas could be fit to play as well in which case i would start him next to Dawson.

Gomes
Hutton-Dawson-Gallas-BAE
Lennon-Palacios-Modric-Bale
VdV
Defoe

I'm also going to go out there and predict a 2-1 win for The Lillywhites - its certainly due!

In other news It looks like there's going to be a number of protests against the proposed move to Stratford before the game. The main group 'We Are N17' appear to be staging one outside The Bell and Hare pub near Park Lane with an aim to get the Sky cameras filming, If you can then try to go along to lend your support and to sign the petition that they will be carrying!
Ive also noticed that there are a lot of splinter protests happening, one of these will be going on from 1300 outside the main gate (not to sure on other details), there will also be a number of other ones taking place down the high road and around the ground so keep your eye out!

I will personally be at The Bell and Hare to sign the petition and see what's going on before heading to The Bricklayers to soak up the awesome pre-match atmosphere! One thing i will say though is try not to bring these protests into the ground, the team will need 100% support from them fans and we don't want to ruin this!

No doubt Sir Les will be replaying that winner against Utd hoping that the boys can repeat it tomorrow! I must admit that I've just done exactly the same - call it 'getting in the mood'!

COYS!
